Maldives in 2 Minutes
The Maldives is in the Indian Ocean composed of 26 ring shaped atolls, which are made up of more than 1,000 coral islands. Known for its gorgeous beaches, blue lagoons and lively coral reef.
When to go
The best weather is between November and April with endless sunshine. I personally prefer visiting the Maldives during low season, between May and October. Even though it is the monsoon season with possibilities of rainy days, it is less crowded and you can get better deals.
Where to Stay
For an intimate and private experience, choose staying in a small island with few guests villas. Research carefully on the resort you wish to stay, based on the activities they offer, the location of their coral reef and restaurants available since this resort will be your home in the Maldives.
Resorts offer different meal packages when booking your stay. You can choose between a breakfast only, half board, full board or an all-inclusive.
The prices for food and drinks are costly in the resorts so choosing a full board package is a great option as it consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner. The all-inclusive package is perfect for those who want to have cocktails and wine with their meals, since alcohol is also included.
Getting to your Resort
Resorts in the Maldives are reached by speedboat or seaplane and sometimes a combination of both. Choosing a speedboat transfer gets you to the resort faster and it’s cheaper, but a seaplane transfer is an unforgettable experience.
TIP: Book a last minute trip! This is not an easy option for everyone, but this way you can save so much money on your stay.
