At Local Supply, we’re for locals everywhere, and we can’t think of any more remarkable locals than the men and women of Surf Life Saving Australia. Everyday they put on their iconic yellow and red uniform and march to beaches across this great country to watch out for the locals from all around the world using the beaches. They’ve saved countless lives since their formation in 1907 (109 years ago!), when they started as The Surf Bathing Association of New South Wales, in response to the numerous water casualties that had occurred since swimming in the ocean had been legalised (!) in Australia. The not-for-profit organisation spread Australia-wide, and has been a source of safety, national pride, and tourist selfies ever since. Not just limited to patrolling beaches, the organisation’s duties include education, coastal risk assessments, training, and giving volunteers the chance to contribute within their local community.
We couldn’t be prouder to be their partner.
We’re now the official on-patrol sunglass licensee of Surf Life Saving Australia, which means the boys and girls in red and yellow will be protecting their eyes with the same premium polarized lenses that come as standard in most of our sunnies. With two designs, we used the aptly named EVERYDAY style as our base. The SLSA PATROLLER is customised with the famous SLSA cap on the temples of the frames and the SLSA SURF RESCUE is customised with the words 'surf rescue'. The sunglasses also come packed with an exclusive SLSA box and pop case. Shop the collection below;
Proceeds from the sale of each pair will support SLSA's commitment to coastal water safety, drowning prevention and rescue. Check out the collaboration below, featuring none other than professional Ironwoman and North Bondi SLSC prodigy, Lizzie Welborn.
For every pair of Patroller sunglasses ordered by a club member, we will donate $10 to your local club. Members will also receive a special order discount of $30 off per pair. Get in touch with us now to find out more about our exclusive offer by emailing us - firstname.lastname@example.org
And — perhaps most importantly — to show we really care about the work these amazing surf life savers do, day in, day out, we’ll be spending as much time as possible at the beach as a show of support. We encourage you to do the same. It’s not easy work, but someone’s gotta do it, right?
P.s. If you’d like to donate to Surf Life Saving Australia — or you’re interested in signing up as a volunteer, an incredible opportunity to grow yourself and catch some rays that we fully recommend — then check out the Surf Life Saving Australia website: sls.com.au
