All light naturally contains coloured rays and Blue light is part of the spectrum.
Not all blue light is bad, natural blue light from the sun is what keeps us awake and relegates our sleep cycles. It’s the over exposure of artificial blue light from our digital devices, LED screens and electronic lights that has harmful affects.
It’s no secret that our screen time has increased as a result of the pandemic – because smart phones are kinda amazing, right?
But did you know that around 6 in 10 adults experience symptoms of digital eye strain after using devices for more than 2 hours?
Symptoms of digital eyestrain include headaches, blurry vision and dry eyes. Blue light blocking glasses can help offset some of these symptoms along with the symptoms of “Computer Vision Syndrome” (we checked, and it is a real thing).
But there’s more… You can also get a better nights sleep with blue-light blocking glasses!
Blue light has a high energy frequency that can increase alertness and delay the body's release of melatonin, which helps induce sleep. We’re told we should all avoid using digital devices one to two hours before sleep – but that’s easier said than done.
Blue-light blocking glasses can reduce the impact of blue light, enabling you to use your devices and still get a good night’s sleep.
To help take it easy on your eye's we've fitted your favourite plant-based frames with non-prescription blue light blocking lenses with an added anti-reflective coating.
These non-prescription lenses are designed to block harmful blue light from digital devices to help reduce eye strain, plus avoid headaches and interrupted sleep resulting from too much screen time.
